Finding the Money

Yesterday, I offered a brief workshop on using Donors Choose for teachers at my site. Only a few showed up, but they had great questions and were obviously interested in figuring out how to get the resources they need for their classrooms.

One teacher asked if projects submitted to Donors Choose had to be technology based since that's all she had heard about. NO! Any teacher in any subject area can request resources of any type so long as it helps their students become more successful.

We all realized that organizations like DonorsChoose or, in our area a group called the Ed. Fund, will become more and more important for teachers during the cutbacks that we are experiencing across the nation. What do you and your colleagues do to get the resources needed to help students become more successful?
