Teacher as Fundraisers
Times are tough and budgets are being cut. As educators, we still need to do our jobs, which sometimes requires us to make copies. One Southern California teacher has come up with a novel solution to cover costs: advertisements. I'm just not sure what to say. I understand why a teacher would do that, but I'm uncomfortable with the idea of selling space on my tests or other printed assignments. What are your thoughts?

Hi Natalie,
ReplyDeleteNo doubt countless individuals will come up with all sorts of creative ideas for surviving current economic challenges. I think the idea has great possibilities. It leaves me wondering what would be wrong with advertising on tests as long the ads are brief (so as not to create too much of a distraction) and appropriate for the audience. I also think students can be quite pleasantly surprised by their teachers on occasion. Appropriately executed I think this could very well be one of those times.
